Advantage Cat - Anti-flea pipettes

Indications for use - Advantage Cat

Advantage Cat is used to prevent and treat fleas on cats. Advantage Cat protects your cat against new infestations for 3 to 4 weeks. Advantage Cat can be used in combination with a Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD) treatment programme.

Composition - Advantage Cat

IMIDACLOPRID: 100 mg
Butylated hydroxytoluene: 1 mg
Excipients q.s.: 1 ml

Administration and dosage - Advantage Cat

Advantage Cat must be applied directly onto the skin at the back of your cat's neck.

• Cats weighing less than 4 kg: one 0.4 ml pipette of Advantage Cat 40
• Cats weighing more than 4 kg: one 0.8 ml pipette of Advantage Cat 80

The fleas are killed within 24 hours after applying Advantage Cat. One application of Advantage Cat prevents further flea infestations for 3 to 4 weeks. Advantage Cat is still effective even if your cat is wet, for example after a bath or on a rainy day.

However, you may have to reapply Advantage Cat if there are fleas in your cat's environment. In that case, you should wait at least 1 week before reapplying Advantage Cat.

If the environment is infested with fleas, we advise that you also treat the environment for adult fleas as well as larvae and nymphs using a suitable product.

Instructions - Advantage Cat

• Remove a pipette from the package.
• Hold the pipette in an upright position, and then twist and pull to remove the cap.
• Use the cap upside down to screw and perforate the seal.
• With your cat standing, part the coat behind the neck.
• Put the tip of the pipette on the skin and press firmly a few times until the contents have been fully squeezed out.

Contraindications - Advantage Cat

Do not treat unweaned kittens younger than 8 weeks.

Side effects - Advantage Cat

Advantage Cat has a bitter taste and can result in excessive salivation if the cat licks the area where Advantage Cat was applied immediately following treatment. This is not a sign of poisoning. This side effect will disappear within a few minutes, without any treatment.

Apart from the fleas on your cat, the fleas' eggs, their larvae and their nymphs can also be found in your cat's environment. These can therefore reinfect your pet shortly after treatment. This is why we recommend treating the surroundings with an appropriate spray, such as Virbac Laboratory's Indoor-X
