Buster ActivityMat Starter Set - Activity mat for dogs

History behind the Buster ActivityMat:

The Danish dog-owner Marianne Haller Vesterholt always had lots of different toys to play with her Miniature Schnauzer "Ludwig". However, she found that the different games were never stimulating enough for Ludwig, and they were all the same. She decided to create her own activity mat, and so the Buster ActivityMat was born.

What makes the Buster ActivityMat so important to your dog’s well-being?

To keep happy, your dog needs three types of daily activity:

• Physical: walks, outdoor play, etc.
• Intellectual: education, agility, intellectual games
• Chewing: eating and chewing on games

The Buster ActivityMat allows your dog to meet its intellectual needs by stimulating its brain. Dogs that get enough activity (physical, intellectual and chewing) feel better and are at less risk of exhibiting behaviour due to stress and anxiety, such as destructive behaviour, barking, skin issues (wounds from licking), etc.

How the Buster ActivityMat works:

The basic mat has 35 snap buttons, each spaced 10 cm apart. Different activities can be attached to the different snap buttons, each at a different level of difficulty. The basic mat (Starter Set) comes with 3 activities.

Once your dog has made it through the game, it can all be stored away in the handy bag that it comes with, making it easy to transport your Buster ActivityMat.

How to use the ActivityMat:

• Always supervise your dog while it is playing the game.
• You need to place the Buster ActivityMat such that you can reach it from all sides.
• All dogs are different, some use their snout, others use their paws. Let them do what they want to do.
• Only allow one dog at a time to use the mat.
• It is important that the dog be successful the first few times you use the ActivtyMat: start with one game and leave it "open" to make it easier.
• Let the dog see that you put treats in the hiding spots.
• Always finish the session on a positive note.
• Avoid "over-stimulation": the session should not last more than 15 minutes.
