Regardless as to whether your dog is still growing or elderly, it is important to take care of your dog's joints. Locox is a nutritional supplement that protects joints, particularly in cases of osteoarthritis.
Locox is a blend of essential nutrients and antioxidants: chondroitin, MSM, glucosamine, zinc and manganese. The ingredients in Locox protect not just the cartilage, they also inhibit the negative effects of osteoarthritis:
- Chondroitin inhibits the deterioration of cartilage tissue.
- MSM and glucosamine are essential to the synthesis of cartilage.
- Zinc and manganese are coenzymes that act synergistically to provide joint support.
In addition, antioxidants (vitamins E and C) inhibit the formation of free radicals in ageing joints; black currant plant extract (Ribes nigrum), meadowsweet (Spirea ulmaria) and horsetail (Equisetum arvense) are known for their soothing effect on osteoarthritic pain.
Locox is easy to administer as it comes in flavoured tablets.
Locox - Dosage
Treatment phase over 10 days:
- Dogs under 8 kg - 1/2 tablet daily
- Dogs between 8 and 20 kg - 1 tablet daily
- Dogs between 21 and 35 kg: 2 tablets daily
- Dogs between 36 and 50 kg: 3 tablets daily
- Dogs over 50 kg: 4 tablets daily
Maintenance phase over 30 days (after treatment phase):
- Dogs under 8 kg - 1/4 tablet daily
- Dogs between 8 and 20 kg - 1/2 tablet daily
- Dogs between 21 and 35 kg: 1 tablet daily
- Dogs between 36 and 50 kg: 1.5 tablets daily
- Dogs over 50 kg: 2 tablets daily
Locox tablets - Composition
- Chondroitin sulfate - 200 mg
- MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) - 300 mg
- Glucosamine sulfate - 300 mg
- Vitamin E - 12.5 mg
- Vitamin C - 25 mg
- Zinc sulfate - 15 mg
- Manganese sulfate- 10 mg
- Plant extract - black currant, meadowsweet, horsetail

Most effective treatment
Trevor is a 13-years-old Jack Russell Terrier. For some time he has shown signs of arthritis-like pain in his hips and shoulders. Our vet in France prescribed Locox for him, and we have been using it regularly since then. We are convinced that they are helping him.
No, he doesn't take tablets well (or even at all) but reducing his dose to powder with a pestle and mortar and mixing it with his favourite yoghurt ensures he takes it regularly and gets the benefits.
