Drontal - Dog dewormer

Dogs can be infected by up to a dozen different kinds of intestinal parasites. It's not always easy to recognise the symptoms, which is why your veterinarian will tell you that it is better to use Drontal at least every three months to avoid a serious worm infestation in your pet.

Drontal is the only dewormer that eliminates all kinds of intestinal worms common to dogs.

The combination of Drontal's unique, proven ingredients eliminate flatworms and roundworms, including Ascaris (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina), Ancylostoma (Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum) and Trichuris.

Administering Drontal dog dewormer

Drontal is administered orally. Drontal dewormer tables can be fed straight to your dog or added to your dog's food. Tablets can be administered on an empty stomach - there is no need to feed your dog immediately before or after.

Drontal dog dewormer dosage

Drontal dog dewormer – SMALL & MEDIUM – 1 tablet per 10 kg:

• Between 2.5 and 5 kg = 1/2 tablet
• Between 6 and 10 kg = 1 tablet
• Between 11 and 15 kg = 1.5 tablets
• Between 16 and 20 kg = 2 tablets
• Between 21 and 25 kg = 2.5 tablets

Drontal dog dewormer – LARGE – 1 tablet per 35 kg:

• Up to 17.5 kg = 1/2 tablet
• Between 17.5 and 35 kg = 1 tablet
• Between 36 and 52.5 kg = 1,5 tablets
• Between 52.5 and 70 kg = 2 tablets

Drontal dog dewormer – SMALL & MEDIUM: 1 tablet contains:

• 50 mg Praziquantel
• 144 mg Pyrantel 
• 150 mg Febantel

Drontal dog dewormer – LARGE: 1 tablet contains:

• 175 mg Praziquantel
• 504 mg Pyrantel 
• 525 mg Febantel

Drontal dog dewormer - Contraindications

Do not administer to dogs weighing less than 2.5 kg.

Fleas are often carriers of flatworm larvae, which can be swallowed by your dog when s/he is cleaning him/herself. It is therefore also important to keep fleas under control. The best way to protect your dog is to treat it with a product such as Frontline. Be sure to pick a treatment that doesn't just get rid of mature fleas, but also gets rid of any larvae on your pet, so that you can eliminate fleas at all stages in their life cycle.
