    Indications - Frontline Spray

Frontline Spray 100 ml is indicated for cats and dogs under 5 kg. Frontline Spray 250 ml or 500 ml are indicated for animals weighing more than 5 kg.

In dogs, Frontline Spray is used to prevent flea (60 to 90 days' protection) and tick (30 days' protection) infestations and eliminates biting lice.

In cats, Frontline Spray is used to prevent and treat flea (40 days' protection) and tick (15 days' protection) infestations.

Frontline Spray can be included as part of a therapeutic treatment programme for Flea Allergy Dermatitis.

Administration and dosage - Frontline Spray

Frontline Spray must be sprayed onto your dog's or cat's skin. The number of recommended applications depends on the weight of your pet and its coat:

    • 100 ml bottle: Pump 6 times per kg (12 for long-haired dogs)
    • 250 ml or 500 ml bottles: Pump 2 times per kg (4 for long-haired dogs)

Spray onto the entire surface of the body, keeping the bottle at an approximate distance of 10-20 cm. Apply Frontline Spray against the hair's direction of growth on the whole surface of your pet in order to moisten the coat evenly. Allow spray to penetrate to the skin. Let it dry without wiping off. We recommend waiting at least 4 weeks before reapplying.

    Contraindications - Frontline Spray

Do not use Frontline spray on sick (systemic diseases, fever...) or recovering pets. Do not use Frontline on rabbits as this could result in severe, potentially deadly side effects.

Adverse reactions and precautions for use - Frontline Spray

If your dog licked Frontline, it may salivate excessively.

    Special precautions for use

    • Be careful that your pets do not lick each other after being treated with Frontline Spray.
    • Do not allow your pets to swim in the two days following Frontline Spray treatment.
    • Do not shampoo wash your pets for two days prior to treating with Frontline Spray.
    • Remaining ticks can sometimes be seen. Therefore, there may still be a risk of transmitting infectious diseases.

    User precautions

    • Avoid contact with mouth or eyes. Avoid contact with fingers, or use gloves. If product comes into contact with the skin, wash hand thoroughly with soap and water.
    • If product should come into contact with the eyes, thoroughly rinse with water. Wash hands after use.
    • Do not touch animals that have just been treated and do not allow children to play with them until the application surface is dry. We recommend treating the animal in the evening rather than during the day, and to not let the animal sleep with its owner, especially with children.
    • Do not smoke, drink or eat while applying the product on your pet.

    Direct-Vet recommends:

Besides fleas, there might be flea eggs, larvae and nymphs in your dog's environment. These might develop into adult fleas, causing a new infestation. That is why we recommend treating your dog's environment with the appropriate spray, such as Virbac's Indoor-X.
